How I Found Yoga

Injury and Healing

Rebecca began her yoga adventures in 1996. As a collegiate springboard diver, she suffered from spinal fractures and degenerative disk disease at the age of 19. She struggled with severe chronic pain, until she was introduced to yoga by a friend. After just one class she was hooked and has never looked back. Yoga became her medicine, her sanity, and her saving grace. In 2007, she went to India and received her certification to teach from the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, and completed her advanced certification with Integrative Yoga Therapy in 2009, she received her accreditation with IAYT in 2017.

Why

I do it

When I started on my yoga adventures in the 1990's, I was practicing to keep my back pain at bay. I became a yoga therapist because every student that walked through my door needed something more than just a vinyasa class. Now, my more cherished experiences as a teacher are when I am able to help people regain a sense of normalcy in their lives as a result of a regular therapeutic yoga and meditation practice. I love when students and clients finally discover their connection between the mind, spirit, and body and are able find profound change.
